Custom Dental Night Mouth Guard in Waterdown

Individuals who grind their teeth are prone to pain the jaw and migraines. For this type of situation we advise that the patient to get suited for a dental night guard available at our Waterdown dental office, this would help with teeth grinding or clinching the mouth which can be a common problem and linked to stress.

If you suffer from these conditions you may notice pain in the jaw, grinding sounds coming from your teeth, facial pain and swelling. In most cases teeth grinding occurs at night time, it can be caused by a variety of circumstances such as stress, anxiety, maybe even from habit. This situation can lead to more issues such as damaging dental fillings, wearing down teeth enamel and can even cause tooth sensitivity.

Our dental office can customize the dental night guard based on how complicated the situation can be, the night guard can be created for heavy, moderate and light grinding of the teeth. Night guards are very durable and can last for 10 years, they are easy to wear however may just require some getting used to. Prior to getting fitted for a night guard there are a few things that can be done to try to stop teeth grinding such as stop chewing gum or other objects, avoid alcoholic drinks or drinks with caffeine, these may cause you to grind your teeth more. If you’re suffering from this please do not hesitate to call our office and set up an appointment today.
