Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) Accepted by Waterdown & Hamilton Dentist

Canadian Dental Insurance Plan

We are accepting the Government of Canada Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). The CDCP is a new Canadian Dental Care Plan where individuals that do not have access to an employer provided or private dental insurance plan can apply for. As an important part of dental care and overall health, the Government of Canada recognizes the expenses that can be associated with dental treatment and is committed to helping Canadians receive the dental treatments that are required while also making it more affordable.

The CDCP is offered to help low income families who do not have dental insurance by covering some costs associated with dental services for families with net income that is under $90,000.

The Federal Government of Canada will be introducing the CDCP coverage in steps.

Eligibility Dates – timeline:

Starting in (with patients ages)

  • Age 87+ in Mid-December 2023
  • Age 77 to 86 in January 2024
  • Age 72 to 76 in February 2024
  • Age 70 to 71 in March 2024

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is not a free dental program and depending on the net family income of the applicant, individuals may have to make a co-payment of 60% of the treatment. It’s also important to note that the CDCP does not apply for every dental service, we advise patients to contact the office to understand dental care costs for your treatment and what the benefits will cover.
